The Course - Information about Navan Racecourse
Navan is a left-handed track extending to 1 mile 4 furlongs with a straight sprint track of nearly 6 furlongs. The ‘Home’ Straight is 3.5 furlongs with a steady uphill finish from 2 furlongs out.
Chase Course
There are 9 fences consisting of 7 plain fences and two open ditches. In a 3 mile chase there are 17 fences to be jumped.
Chase are run over distances of:
- Two Miles
- Two Miles 1 Furlong
- Two Miles 4 Fulongs
- Two miles 5 Furlongs
- Two Miles 6 Furlongs
- Three Miles
Hurdle Course
Hurdle Track runs to the inner of the chase track and can be moved for each meeting. There are 7 flights per circuit with a minimum of 10 flights jumped.
Hurdle races are fun over distances of:
- Two Miles
- Two Miles 2 Furlongs
- 2 Miles 4 Furlongs
- 2 Miles 5 Furlongs
- 2 Miles 6 Furlongs
- 3 Miles
