About Navan Racecourse

Racing has been held in Proudstown for almost 100 years and the venue has seen many transformations over that time. It is now one of the most modern venues in the country and with a host of restaurants, bars, a coffee shop and childrens' areas, there is something to suit all ages.

Whether you are an avid racegoer or completely new to racing, you are guaranteed to enjoy the friendly atmosphere, thrilling live action and wonderful facilities at Navan.

We host two Ladies Days annually, one in June and the other every November. Our Family Fun Day held every May is simply a must for all junior racegoers. Our Bective Restaurant is an ideal venue for small groups of family, friends or clients. Our Punter's or Sports Bar packages are ideal for hen or stag parties while our functions rooms can be booked for larger groups and cater for approximately 200 people. Take a look at our Hospitality section to find out more.

There is racing action at Navan every month of the year with the exception of August. We host 19 fixtures in the calendar year, 10 of which are National Hunt/jumps and 9 on the flat. For a full list of our race meetings, view our Race Meetings Overview.

Navan is a left-handed oval track of one mile and four furlongs with a testing uphill finish of approximately two furlongs. Our straight sprint track is nearly six furlongs in length. The track is best described as a 'big galloping track' and consequently attracts many high class runners. Season and season racegoers have the opportunity to see 'talking horses' before they appear at major festivals.

The historic Troytown Chase, the Fortria Chase, the Lismullen Hurdle, the Boyne Hurdle and the Monksfield Novice Hurdle are the big races on the National Hunt side of things, while the Group 3 Vintage Crop Stakes and the Listed Salsabil Stakes are the feature flat events. Navan will also host the Irish Cesarewitch in October 2018.
