Compas Stallions Commit To The Space Traveller Committed Stakes At Navan Racecourse

Aidan McGarry (Navan Racecourse General Manager), Micheál Orlandi (Compas Stallions Owner and Stud Manager) and feature stallion Space Traveller at Starfield Stud in Westmeath.


Compas Stallions have a total of seven stallions on their roster at Starfield Stud with a number of young, exciting prospects including Royal Ascot and Group 2 hero Space Traveller.

Navan Racecourse are delighted to announce that Compas Stallions are the latest Stud to join their sponsorship portfolio. The Westmeath based stud will sponsor the Space Traveller Irish EBF Committed Stakes during Navan’s premium flat card, Saturday 27th April.

Compas Stallions have a total of seven stallions on their roster at Starfield Stud with a number of young, exciting prospects including Royal Ascot and Group 2 hero Space Traveller. The son of Bated Breath is in his second season covering and reports of his first foals are exceptional.

Owner and Stud Manager Micheál Orlandi spoke about the announcement: "We are delighted to sponsor the Space Traveller Irish EBF Committed Stakes at Navan, a stepping stone to Royal Ascot success. As Space Traveller won at Royal Ascot himself, it seems the perfect fit, both in name and race conditions. Space Traveller's first foals have landed and have been met with rave reviews. We look forward to welcoming breeders to Navan on Saturday the 27th.”

The day is a quality filled Super Saturday card with three black type races including the SBK Vintage Crop Stakes, the Irish EBF Salsabil Stakes and the Space Traveller Irish EBF Committed Stakes. Last year’s Irish EBF Committed Stakes winner Ocean Quest went on to be place in the Commonwealth Cup at Royal Ascot.  Aside from top class racing on the track, Navan Racecourse will also host a Flat Season Preview with Micheál Orlandi joining host David Jennings along with Irish Champion Jockey Colin Keane and Kevin Blake, Journalist & Race Planner to Joseph O’Brien. In celebration of the partnership, the winning breeder of the Space Traveller Irish EBF Committed Stakes race will be rewarded with a free nomination to Space Traveller in 2025. In addition to this initiative, Compas Stallions and Navan Racecourse are delighted to offer Breeders with a half price admission ticket to racing on SBK Vintage Crop Stakes Day, Saturday 27th April.
