I was thrilled to see the number of ladies who dressed up for today’s competition, the fashion stakes were very high with so many fabulous winter coats and colours on display. I had a very difficult job narrowing down to the overall winner but Emily’s outfit was just perfect for a day at the races, and weather appropriate

It was a thrilling day of top-class racing action at Navan Racecourse today as local trainer Noel Meade claimed the feature Grade B Ladbrokes Troytown Chase with Tout Est Permis under Sean Flanagan. The Grade 3 Monksfield Novice Hurdle went to Easy Game for trainer Willie Mullins and Ruby Walsh and the Red Mills Irish EBF Auction Maiden Hurdle went to Put The Kettle on for Henry De Bromhead and David Mullins.

Off track the style stakes were high with Emily Davis from Lismullen announced as the Most Stylish Lady at Navan Racecourses Winter Ladies Day. Emily wore an Italian designed trilby, Zara skirt, a grey coat with fur trim and a Coach bag.

Well-known TV presenter and wellness speaker Síle Seoige had the unenviable task of selecting the five finalists and the overall winner.

Emily won an €800 spending spree for Navan Town Centre and a luxurious weekend break for two in the Great National Ballykisteen Golf Hotel in Co. Tipperary (courtesy of Cusack Hotel Group). The four runners up received a €50 voucher for Navan Town Centre and afternoon tea at the Newgrange Hotel.

Síle Seoige said: “I was thrilled to see the number of ladies who dressed up for today’s competition, the fashion stakes were very high with so many fabulous winter coats and colours on display. I had a very difficult job narrowing down to the overall winner but Emily’s outfit was just perfect for a day at the races, and weather appropriate.”

Peter Killeen Manager of Navan Racecourse said: “Ladbrokes Troytown Day is one of our biggest fixtures at Navan and has again attracted fantastic quality fields. We are grateful to our sponsors and delighted with the turnout for the racing and the ladies day event.”
